A Nilavilakku is a bell metal ceremonial lamp often used in Kerala, South India, used for any occasion thought to be auspicious. Crafted in much the same fashion as a large pricket candle stick, this piece features an short finial at the center of the broad oil well, which sits atop a baluster stem with ring and ball turning, and terminates on a round base with lips around the top and bottom edges.
