This antique, iridescent gold, tear-drop shaped bud vase is decorated in Weller's Sicardo glaze with floral and scroll decoration. The neck rim and interior are a lovely cranberry color.
French potter Jacques Sicard invented the metallic luster line known as Sicardo, which is one of Weller's most sought after patterns. The line was difficult to make and thus was only produced between 1902 and 1907, making the Sicardo pieces more scarce and desirable to collectors. Signed (side): Weller.
