An antique, Ming Dynasty burial, funerary attendant figure of a man, and wearing a traditional hat and partly, green glazed robe with one arm raised to balance an object on his shoulder. This small, votive statuette figure is crafted in two-parts with a removable head. Often the bodies and heads of tomb statues are crafted in two pieces, like in this example. These type of funerary figures were buried in the tombs in China for use by the deceased in the afterlife and include musicians, attendants and animals.
