An antique, Ming Dynasty burial, funerary figure with one arm raised, and wearing a traditional conical hat and robe. This small, votive statuette figure of a man is crafted in two-parts with a removable head. Often the bodies and heads of tomb statues are crafted in two pieces, like in this example. These type of funerary figures were buried in the tombs of China for use by the deceased in the afterlife and include musicians, attendants and animals.
