This vintage African tribal sculpture was made by the Bamana Peoples (Mali, Bougouni or Dioila region) in Western Africa. This carved wood statue shows a female figure seated on a low stool and holding two small male and female infant figures resting upright on her knees. She is nude apart from a tall, conical headdress, armbands and necklace.
