An antique English, Georgian period maritime ship portrait of the East Indiaman shown broadside sailing to the left, with other ships and Madras in the background. The East Indiaman was part of the fleet of English East India Company trading ships. Madras was a major British colonial shipping port. Matted and framed.
MAKER
Robert Dodd (British, 1748-1816). Dodd was a member of the Royal Academy and the Society of Artists (1782-1809). His works are in the collection of Royal Museums Greenwich.
