This very large trunk, with a VERY slight arch to the top, is of the form often associated with immigrants. It features hand forged iron corner braces, nails and keyhole escutcheon. It sits atop bun feet and would make a great provincial coffee table. It has much of an old, faux-grain painted finish and features a newer, painted, brick red field on the front, bearing the date, 1821, surrounded by blue-gray foliage.
