Beautifully fashioned with tortoise shell trim and lining, and a fine, brass bezel, this lovely box features a watercolor miniature portrait on ivory of an aristocratic woman with a ribbon adorning her powdered coiffure, and a white fichu at her neck. She is seated at her piano forte with swags of blue drapery framing the scene.
