The antique Steuben lamp shade displays a flared fitter rim with a bowl shaped shade, deeply engraved with a repeating, scroll and fan neoclassical design. The glass is an iridescent opal color with a gold interior. Calcite glass is crafted by fusing three distinct layers of glass into a single piece.

Steuben Glass Works (Corning, NY, 1903-2011). Founders: Thomas Gibbons Hawkes (Irish, 1846-1913) and Frederick Carder (English, 1863-1963. Active at Steuben 1903-32).
