Quezal was founded in Queens, New York under the creative direction of Martin Bach, Sr. and Thomas Johnson who were both former employees of Tiffany. They produced glass in the Art Nouveau style comparable in quality and beauty with the work of Tiffany and Frederick Carder of Steuben. Quezal was an important contributor to the history of American Art Nouveau glass and examples are included in many prominent museum collections including the Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, NY) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY).
