An antique, silk embroidery mourning picture featuring a weeping woman standing under a willow tree weeping, as she leans on a memorial grave marker. Worked in silk threads on a silk ground with watercolor details. Possibly as a memorial for Abraham Adams who died August 20, 1791 at age 15 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts. Circle of Miss Rowson's Academy for Young Ladies (Boston/Medford/Newton, Massachusetts, 1797-1822).
