DETAILS
An early antique 17th century example of a panel of a Scandinavian five-plate/jamb stove plate. This large, nicely cast piece depicts St. George atop his horse, slaying a fierce dragon. He is portrayed within a classical arch, with weaponry on the flanks. The piece would make a handsome fireback for a large fireplace or a stove backsplash in a kitchen.
