DETAILS
Possibly from Bordeaux, one of the centers of ecuelle making, this ecuelle has a traditional form of a shallow circular bowl flanked by a pair of flat handles or ears. The handles of this example are decorated with palmettes, flaming hearts and a strapwork border. In other countries it is called a porringer or a brandy bowl.
