A set of antique pale green glazed fireplace tiles with shell, seaweed and coral in low relief designed by Issac Broome. Salvaged from a Victorian house in Soulard, Saint Louis, Missouri. Comprising: (12) square (in 2 patterns), (1) small square, (13.5) rectangular, (66) small plain rectangular. Total of (92.5) tiles.
MAKER
Providential Tile Works (Trenton, NJ, 1886-1913) | Designer: Issac Broome (American, 1836-1922). Broome was considered one of the most influential tile designer and sculptors of the Victorian period.
MARKS
Molded mark (back): Providential / Tile Works / Design C 327 / Trenton / New Jersey.
