Anglo Indian Empire Period Ebony Caned Daybed

DETAILS
Found in Kerala, this entire, antique day bed was fashioned of rare ebony wood. It was designed with scrolled arms that display finely carved floreate roundels on the ends; a motif echoed on blocks above the legs. The legs were artistically fashioned with ring turnings and inverted, reeded cups. The reeded apron holds a newly caned surface. It is a stunning piece that would also make a lovely settee or chaise lounge.
