DETAILS
This French antique enamel plaque is a copy of the famous painting by Jean-Jacques Henner (French, 1829-1905), who was known for his portraits of sensuous women. It shows a head and shoulders portrait of a beautiful lady in a red dress with flowing red hair. Small miniature paintings have always been collected by art collectors with limited wall space. This one is an especially nice example of enamel on copper which is one of the most difficult mediums for an artist to work in.
