It shows the spire of the historic Copenhagen Stock Exchange building (Copenhagen, Denmark, 1625-destroyed by fire 2024) in the background. This painting nicely evokes the soothing atmosphere of an evening strolling on the harbor.

MAKER
Gunnar Emil Weinberg (Swedish, 1876-1959). Weinberg studied at the Higher School of Art and Design in Stockholm (1895-98) and at the Royal College of Art (1900-05) and abroad in Paris and Italy. He was known for his portraits and landscapes and his work is represented in the National Museum and Gothenburg Museum of Art.
