MAKER
Lyman Byxbe (American, 1886-1980). Originally from Illinois, in 1922 Byxbe began making annual summer trips to Estes Park, Colorado. In 1930, he established a studio there, selling etchings of landscapes and resident's cabins for Christmas cards. He achieved national success for his work and had a one man show at the Smithsonian (1937-38). In the late 1930s he moved permanently to Estes Park. He was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers.
