Hand carved, this lovely, antique, 18th century Scandinavian chair was fashioned with an artistic eye. It features an arched crest on the top rail, with an organic, scrolled design over an interesting, very pretty carved, scrolled design in an asymmetric pattern. The fiddle-shaped back splat features an imaginative adaptation of a shell carving. The scalloped apron echoes these patterns and the piece terminates on turned legs with shoe feet and a turned H-stretcher.
