DETAILS
This most unusual antique, 17th century bench was hand crafted by a very imaginative carpenter. This antique settle bench features a unique swinging door back and a box seat that opens to storage compartment under the seat. It displays some of old, painted details on carved designs. Most likely descended through the family as a wedding gift in 1742, but the bench is earlier. Note, also, the wonderful, hand forged iron hardware on the back and seat.
