DETAILS
An antique, Victorian Staffordshire figure group of a courting couple modelled as Robert Burns (1759-1796) and Mary Campbell (Highland Mary) (1763-86) with a tree-form spill vase. Burns stands with his arm around Mary’s shoulder, the other holding a plumed hat, wearing a, scarf, kilt and stockings. Mary holds a book in her hand, and wears a plumed hat and long dress. There are sheaves of corn to her left and on the base with a plaque that reads: Burns and his Mary.
