An antique equestrian portrait painting of a military figure seated astride a black horse viewed from the back. He wears a cermonial uniform of a scarlet tunic, a metal cuirass and a matching helmet with a white plume. The Life Guards are a senior regiment of the British Army and are part of the royal Household Calvary and the Queen's official bodyguard regiment.
