Two very fine antique, Georgian period, Blue-John stone or Derbyshire Spar vases were converted to very classic and elegant lamps. Of ovolo form, the body is crafted of Derbyshire Spar and mounted with a fire gilt bronze neck and foot and supports a two-light fixture and custom green toleware shades. Blue John is a rare semi-precious marble like mineral characterized by bands and veins of a purple-blue or yellowish color. Originally candlestick later electrified in the 1920s, the age of the shades. They are French wired, the original pieces have not been drilled.
