An antique, hunting scene of a black and white setter dog on a grassy hill, alerting and pointing towards game. This image was used on the Cow Brand Baking soda advertising in the early 20th century. Cow Brand later became Arm & Hammer.

After Gustav (aka Gustave) Muss-Arnolt (American, 1858-1927) | Active: New York/Massachusetts. Known for sporting paintings of domestic animals, especially hunting dogs, wild fowl and horses. Emigrated to the United States in 1890. The artist had a keen interest in dogs serving on the board of the American Kennel Club (1906-9).
