DETAILS
An antique, round pewter plate with incised reeded rim. The center with the Conyngham coat of arms with a shield with Y-design meant to represent a shake fork (farm tool), flanked by a rampant horse and stag and topped by a unicorn bust. With the engraved motto: Over Fork Over. The origin of the motto dates back to the 11th century and comes from the first Cunningham, who placed hay with a shake fork over King Malcolm Canmore to hide him from his enemy, the Pretender King Macbeth thus saving his life.
