An antique birth and christening certificate (Geburts-und-Taufschein) for Aaron Diehl, son of Michael and Sara Diehl who was born April 12 and baptized May 24, 1840 in Upper Mahantongo Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Decorated with three virtues, birds and an American eagle. Fraktur are colorful documents made by Pennsylvania Germans who lived in rural areas of southeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding region during the 18th and 19th century. Most fraktur are family records, such as birth and baptismal certificates.
