An antique Delft, earthenware faience plate of round form in blue on white with a yellow rim. It is decorated with a traditional peacock pattern with a fan of feathers in a flowering urn.

De Grieksche A (The Greek A) (Delft, The Netherlands, 1657-1818). Mark for the Atelier Widow Van den Briel-Elling (d. 1786) who was the owner of ’t Fortuyn (The Fortune) Factory (Delft, The Netherlands, 1661-1784) after her husband's death in 1759. Her son Jan van den Briel and his relatives owned De Grieksche A from 1768-1811.
