A scarce antique, Colonial silver trophy made for a military, relay race held in Manila in 1898 during the period of the Spanish-American War (1898). The prize was won by the First (1st) Colorado Infantry Regiment, U.S. Volunteers and presented by the American Com Company. The vase of baluster shape with engraved decoration and griffin handles.
