Modelled after a panel from an original Medieval tapestry titled The War of Troy made around 1475-90 in Tournai, Belgium by an unknown maker. The original tapestry is now part of the collection of the Victoria & Albert (V&A) museum (South Kensington, London, England). The scene depicts the battle between the Amazons and the Greeks.
