Rare Pair English Lancashire Brass, Leather, Wood Children's Sabot Clog Shoes

DETAILS
An early pair of antique British kids's shoes in black leather with hobnails, brass buckles and sturdy wooden and iron soles. Sabot clogs were worn in many countries including France, the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Italy. This style of footwear was designed to keep feet dry in mud, rain or snow. Lancashire sabots were adapted from the French and Dutch model of clogs and irons were added to the wooden soles to further protect their feet from rocky English country roads.
